Arrival in Guadalajara and transfer to hotel in downtown Guadalajara. Welcome dinner and orientation.
June 26, Thursday (Guadalajara)
Walking tour of Guadalajara. Tour will visit the cathedral, the Teatro Degollado, and will also see the wondrous murals of José Clemente Orozco in the Palacio de Gobierno and the Hospicio Cabañas. Explore the famous San Juan de Dios arts and crafts market, and enjoy an afternoon excursion to Tlaquepaque, also known for its fine arts and crafts.
June 27, Friday (Guadalajara/Guanajuato)
Bus trip to picturesque Guanajuato. Walking tour of the city will include many baroque architectural jewels as well as the city’s colorful colonial plazas and streets.
June 28, Saturday (Guanajuato)
All-day visit of the Ruta de la Independencia, including stops in historic Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende.
June 29, Sunday (Guanajuato/Mexico City)
Departure for scenic Querétaro, with stop for a brief tour and admiration of its impressive aqueduct. After lunch, the tour continues to Mexico City, for an evening performance of the incomparable Ballet Folklórico Nacional in the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
June 30, Monday (Mexico City)
Put on the hiking boots! All-day trip to the majestic pyramids of Teotihuacán, an hour-and-a-half northeast of Mexico City.
July 1, Tuesday (Mexico City)
Morning walking tour of the historic center, including the enormous Zócalo, Cathedral, Templo Mayor, and the Palacio Nacional, home to stunning murals painted by Diego Rivera.
July 2, Wednesday (Mexico City/Morelia) Bus trip to Morelia and meeting of families.

Leave Morelia to visit the beautiful Lake Chapala region.
August 2, Saturday (Lake Chapala/Manzanillo)
Leave for Manzanillo area, with a brief stopover in Tapalpa, an enchanting mountain town. Arrival in Manzanillo area on the Pacific Coast for two days of sun and sand!
August 3, Sunday (Manzanillo)
Sun and sand!
August 4, Monday (Manzanillo/Lake Chapala)
Return to hotel in Lake Chapala. On the way, route will pass through the towns of Autlán, El Grullo, and Ejutla; places off the proverbial beaten path.
