University Development

Hornet Athletics

Sacramento State’s student-athletes strive to achieve greatness in competition and in the classroom. They inspire pride among fellow students and alumni and they engage the community. Sacramento State fields 20 intercollegiate athletic teams that compete at the NCAA Division I level. Since joining the Big Sky Conference in 1997 the Hornets have won 51 Big Sky Conference championships in 15 years.

The University recently unveiled an exciting strategic plan for the athletic department that includes increased student-athlete engagement, improved marketing for the department and the possibility for facility expansion.

The Hornet Club is the fundraising arm for Sacramento State intercollegiate athletics, aiming to build revenue and, most importantly, scholarships for all 20 programs.

Giving Guide

Your support of Sacramento State provides life-changing opportunities for our students, preparing them to be leaders in their professions and communities.

Donor contributions allow the University to offer the affordable, high-quality education that is not possible through state funding alone. It strengthens our ability to offer access to talented faculty who are at the top of their fields, to hands-on learning that translates to real-world applications and to leadership opportunities that motivate well beyond graduation.

You can direct your support to programs and students across campus.
