Anthony Sadler Community Scholarship
A Message from the President
Sacramento State President Robert S. Nelsen praises senior Anthony Sadler and his friends for their heroism.
Sacramento State senior Anthony Sadler made international news when he and two friends, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and U.S. Air Force Airman Spencer Stone, thwarted an alleged terrorist attack while riding the train between Amsterdam and Paris. Anthony and his friends have been hailed as heroes by people around the world, from President Barack Obama to French President Francois Hollande, who presented him with the Legion of Honor medal, the country’s highest award.
Here in Sacramento, residents are expressing their gratitude by establishing a community scholarship to assist Anthony in his studies at Sac State. Contributions may be made in care of The University Foundation at Sacramento State to the Anthony Sadler Community Scholarship, which he can put toward tuition, books and other expenses.
Because the funds will go directly to Anthony, in accordance with IRS regulations, contributions to the scholarship are not considered philanthropic gifts to the University and are therefore not tax-deductible.
