Sacramento State President, Robert S. Nelsen

T

he success of our students here at Sacramento State is central to everything we do. In this edition of Torchlight, you will learn more about many of the initiatives we are undertaking to give our students the best. Sacramento State already offers an outstanding educational experience, but we are pushing to do more.

One of the most exciting events in the coming year will be the groundbreaking for the Science Complex. These state-of-the-art buildings will expand the opportunities for our students and faculty to do cutting-edge original research. The planetarium will not only allow our students to study the universe, but will be a unique gift for the community and the Sacramento region. Because of the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification design, Sacramento State will be able to further expand its dedication to and national reputation for sustainability.

I hope that you will choose to be involved on our campus during this exciting time of growth and transition. Your support allows us to continue to transform the University in new and innovative ways, and to truly provide our students with the best education possible. Giving through funds like the President’s Circle enable us to directly support key priorities for our students such as the Hornet Hyperloop team who competed against 23 other international teams at the Space X International Hyperloop Competition. It is an exciting time to be a part of Sacramento State and the Hornet Family. Stingers Up!

Sincerely,
Robert S. Nelsen
