ADVOCACY
The Office of Governmental and Civic Affairs conducts advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal level on behalf of the Sacramento State campus. Additionally, we work to secure resources and opportunities to advance the academic mission of the University and to further develop a vibrant campus life for our students, faculty and staff.

Our office operates within the framework of the University's Strategic Plan, which states that as a "Destination Campus," Sacramento State not only values its location in California's capital city but also leadership and civic engagement. The Office of Governmental and Civic Affairs collaborates with on-campus entities, community organizations and civic groups to contribute to the fulfillment of the University's goals and objectives as stated in Destination 2010 and the adopted Strategic Plan.

In addition, in concert with the California State University Office of Federal Relations and Office of Advocacy and Institutional Relations, the Sacramento State Office of Governmental and Civic Affairs participates in efforts to support the public policy and budgetary priorities of the CSU system.
