Brief Biography:
Jeff Lustig served as Director, Center for California Studies at CSUS, 1989-94, was Founding Chair of the California Studies Association, 1990-98, a Trustee of the California Historical Society, 1989-92; Secretary of the statewide California Faculty Association (the CSU faculty union), 1999-2001, and President of the CSUS chapter of CFA, 1997-2003. He's served on the National Executive Committee of the AAUP (Association of American University Professors) Collective Bargaining Congress, 2001-2005. He is author of Corporate Liberalism: The Origins of Modern American Political Theory, 1890-1920 (U.C. Press), and numerous articles on American politics and political thought, California politics, class and race, and the corporatization of American higher education. He has published in Politics and Society, Thought and Action, and The Review of Education, Pedagogy and Cultural Studies among other places. He’s also taught at U.C. Berkeley, Humboldt State and Deep Springs College.
