INSTRUCTIONS FOR DECLARING/CHANGING MAJOR (GOVT, IR or GOVT-JOUR) OR MINOR

Students who meet the 2.0 GPA requirement should follow the below instructions:

1. Fill out the Declaration of Major or Declaration of Minor form

2. Schedule an appointment with the Department Chair

Appointments can be scheduled in one of two ways:
- Call the department at (916) 278-6202.
- Come into the department office (Tahoe 3104) to schedule an appointment.
  *Department office is open MWF 8:00am-12pm, T/TH 1-5pm

During your appointment, complete the appropriate advising form (GOVT, IR, GOVT-JOUR or Minor)

3. Submit the Declaration form to the Student Services Counter in Lassen Hall

Student records will not be updated to reflect the change in major or minor until the Declaration form has been submitted to the Student Services Counter in Lassen Hall.
