Teaching is among the most challenging and personally rewarding of professions. The professional educator brings together subject matter knowledge, appropriate strategies, and interpersonal skills essential to providing successful learning experiences for children. The contemporary teacher is well versed in individualized instruction and sensitive to developmental and sociocultural issues involving the learner. The Department of Teacher Education offers the professional education components of credential programs for kindergarten through high school teaching. A specialized credential program is offered to advanced students in Reading/Language Arts.
