The mission of the Division of Criminal Justice is to prepare the leaders of tomorrow’s criminal justice community to make positive decisions.Through a multi-disciplinary curriculum and a faculty with diverse expertise, experiences and perspectives, students are exposed to the theories, applications and ethics related to crime and justice. Guided by a faculty dedicated to innovative teaching, scholarly achievement and service, students will become confident visionary professionals who appreciate evidenced based reasoning, creative and critical thinking, diversity, equity, and believe in lifelong learning.

The primary mission of the Sacramento State Doctor of Physical Therapy program is to graduate knowledgeable, highly skilled, adaptable and reflective physical therapist generalist practitioners and health care leaders. Graduates demonstrate ethical, responsible, professional behavior; are sensitive to cultural and psychosocial differences; and use evidence derived from the scientific and professional literature to inform independent judgments to meet patient needs and to advance the profession.

The fully accredited program in Recreation Administration provides students with an exciting, broad-based curriculum that includes both stimulating in-class coursework and practical out-of-class field experience. Job opportunities, ranging from hotel managers to program coordinators to park rangers, are numerous both in and out of the Greater Sacramento Area.

The Division of Social Work, located in the California state capital, strives to prepare ethical and competent social workers who can both lead and serve our richly diverse populations in the development and delivery of services that contribute to human well-being and social justice. The Division offers professional undergraduate and graduate degree programs that prepare competent and reflective social workers who apply critical thinking in social work practice and research.
