Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration

  • Natural Resource Administration

Interning as a Wilderness Ranger for the United States Forest Service has been an experience of a lifetime.  On top of using the knowledge gained from the RPTA department at Sac State, this internship has given me a better understanding of how our public lands and wilderness areas are managed.  I have become even more passionate about protecting these places for the future generations. I can attest that the old saying is true, "do what you love and never work a day in your life."

My internship with California State Parks in Big Sur was an amazing, life changing experience.   It gave me the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful parts of California while giving me invaluable work experience.  This internship has reminded me why I love being an RPTA major: We have the best "office" jobs in the entire world!
