Tenure-Track (Professor) Faculty

General Description and Requirements: Tenure-track positions have a PhD/Doctoral degree requirement (ABD considered). These positions are responsible for teaching, scholarly research, academic advising, internship supervision, community and university services, and other duties related to the running of the department and campus.

2017-2018 The Department is searching for three tenure-track faculty positions to begin employment in fall 2018:

  • Recreation Therapy (current CTRS required)
  • Recreation and Park Management - Outdoor Recreation/Recreation Generalist
  • Hospitality and Tourism Management

Full-Time Lecturer Faculty

General Description and Requirements: Full-time lecturer positions are responsible for teaching only. These positions are full-time, teaching 15 units (typically five courses) each semester (15 units). These positions require a minimum of a Master’s degree in the appropriate subject area with several years of professional, field experience. Full-time lecturers do not qualify for tenure.

Part-Time Lecturer Faculty

General Description and Requirements: Part-time lecturer positions are responsible for teaching only. Teaching loads range between 0-12 units. These positions require a minimum of a Master’s degree in the appropriate subject area. Tenure cannot be achieved in these positions. Part-time lecturers are hired semester-by-semester with no guarantee of future employment.

Please note that submitting an application is in no way a guarantee of an interview or a position. Additionally, part-time appointments are based on department need, which can vary each semester, and therefore lecturer appointments should not be considered permanent positions. Applicants may be required to give a teaching demonstration prior to consideration for an appointment.
