Due to California's budget crisis, the California State University (CSU) has implemented a furlough plan for faculty and staff. By the terms of the agreement between the CSU and the California Faculty Association, faculty are required to take nine furlough days in the Fall semester and nine furlough days in the Spring in accord with an approximate 10% pay reduction. Faculty will inform students of their furlough days if they conflict with an instructional day.

Staff are also subject furlough. The following days are campus-wide furlough days during which the History Department will be closed:

September 18 - Friday

October 16 - Friday

November 27 - Friday

December 21-24 (Monday -Friday)

In addition, the History Department will be closed during the following times due to the furlough:

September 11 - Friday (12-5pm)

October 9 - Friday (12-5pm)

November 30 - Monday (all day)
