Thursday April 29th, 2009, 6:00 pm, Sacramento State Serna Plaza

This race will be for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to stride it out on Sacramento State's beautiful campus. The course consists of five kilometers (3.1 miles) of the campus grounds highlighting new structures such as the The WELL, Broad Athletic facility, the America River Courtyard, Hornet Bookstore, and more. Come out and promote fitness and fun for the Sacramento State Community.

Race Start and Finish

The race will start and end at Serna Plaza on the Sacramento State campus. Serna Plaza is located between the University Union and the Hornet Bookstore.

Run as a Team

A teams will consisting of 5 participants. Each participant will run/walk the 5K and each individual's time will be tallied together resulting in a team time. Round up 5 individuals from the same department/major/club and compete against other department/major/club to see who ends up as the winner.

Race Timing

This event will be using the RFID Race Timing System that has the capability to time the start and finish lines for each individual runner. The Fun Run will also have:

• Full Computerized Scoring
• Preliminary Race Results Posted At The Event Site Within Minutes of First Finishers
• Race Results Posted Online Same Day
  

Awards

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners in the following divisions:

 

Team Awards

Teams will consist of 5 participants that have pre-registered together on the registration page. Each individual's time on the team will be tallied together resulting in a team time. The top three teams will receive an award.

Department Participation Award

The department with the most participation (based on percentage turn out) will recieve an award. You may choose the department in which you represent during registration.

Best Dressed Award

There will be a panel of three anonymous judges that will choose the best dressed for teams, departments, and individuals. We encourage dressing up for the event to show Sac State pride as well as the most creative.

 

 

 

Race Start/Finish

The race will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. The race begins at Serna Plaza located between the University Union and the Hornet bookstore and will end at the same location.
