Contest Information
Students and alumni can win big at this year's Homecoming Festivals. Awards include cash prizes, ipods and notoriety as one of Sac State's best.
Contest Rules for Students:
DESIGN A POSTER - WIN $500, $200, or $100
Come to the Forest Suite in the University Union to design your poster on Tuesday, October 9, 8am - 3pm. Supplies will be provided and you can bring some of your own too. Completed posters will be displayed in the Library Quad on Wednesday, October 10, and winners will be announced during the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 13. Competition is open to student clubs and organizations.
TAILGATE FOR HERKY - WIN $200
Students get with your friends and family and tailgate in honor of Herky. Decorate your tailgate area to show your hornet pride and you could win $200. Simply stop by the Alumni Association booth (located on the southwest edge of parking lot 8 outside the Alumni Center) to register your tailgate area in the competition between 10:00am - noon. Judging begins at 12:30 p.m. The tailgate area that best celebrates Herky's birthday with creativity and lots of green and gold will win.
Contest Rules for Alumni:
BEST TAILGATE - Win FAME & $200
At every home football game Intercollegiate Athletics and the Stinger Association award a prize for the Best Tailgate. Winners receive a one-of-a-kind tailgate plaque, a public announcement of their superiority during the football game, and a "reigning champs" banner to display at the next game. For Homecoming, Saturday, October 13, the best alumni/community tailgate will also win $200 compliments of the Alumni Association. All you have to do is set-up your tailgate between 10am & noon in the southwest edge of parking lot 8 outside the Alumni Center. Judging will begin at 12:30p.m. |
