The university provides a fully staffed, seven-bedroom Colonial-style house with a pool. The nine finalists will be interviewed at the end of this month.Last year, Koester was a finalist in the run for president of CSU, San Bernadino. Koester did not return calls for comment. Oh, the ironySince we are returning from Labor Day weekend, it should be noted that employees of the CSUS Foundation and many faculty members at CSUS are working without contracts."Labor Day memorializes the democratic traditions in America that faculty are going back to in order to protect not only their jobs, but also the integrity of the CSU education," said Jeff Lustig, president of this campus' California Faculty Association.
Fees to rise?Representatives from all branches of California higher education met Thursday to discuss proposals to stabilize funding, increase access and provide "predictable" fee increases for students.Representatives from the CSU, the University of California and the California Community College met to review the results of the California Citizens Commission on Higher Education's first report.
Like parking on campus isn't bad enough ...After receiving complaints from drivers, UTAPS says they will not be asking the Sacramento Parking Group to return in the spring to direct traffic at the busy campus intersections."We have received numerous complaints from students during the first two days of school about the tactics being used by the contracted parking group," said Kathy Ponce, UTAPS office manager. In addition to a complaint to CSUS police that two traffic directors were directing in a "dangerous manner," students also reported that they were being turned away from the parking structure and put back on the road heading out of campus. The reason? The traffic directors didn't see a parking permit displayed in the car. (By the way, the parking permit advises the driver to remove the permit before driving.)
Hello, neighborOne of the many advantages to the Hornet's new office is that the better location is encouraging visitors to stop by, including CSUS President Donald Gerth, who stopped by Thursday to let us know about an event. Thanks for the tip, big guy.
