Will's WizardryWill gets worked. Again.By Will MosleyHORNET STAFF WRITER Published October 21, 1998 Two weeks in a row I have lost to my guest predictors, and it hurts. I need to get on my crystal ball. The Hornets won this week so that made my NFL losses a little easier to swallow, but if I don't start winning some games soon I won't be able to keep my cool wizard hat. Last week I won 8 games and lost 5 but that wasn't even good enough for a second-place finish out of three. In the Olympics a third-place finish would get you a bronze medal. The bronze medal is great if you are an Olympic track and field athlete, but if you get the bronze on the Olympic men's basketball team you are seen as a big disgrace. If the best b-ball players in the world are not happy with the bronze I guess I shouldn't feel so bad. Sometimes I wonder if anyone even reads this, but when that thought pops into my head I see someone on campus who says, "Hey, you're not very good." People are brutally honest and I have to get used to this kind of scrutiny if I want to be in the limelight. I don't know if it's just me, but I can always make the right choices when nobody is around. But, I guess I am having trouble dealing with all of this pressure. I found a solution. Last week every team that was playing at home won, and maybe that should give me a hint. If that doesn't work I might try this: Now before I pick I am going to look at the teams that my guest predictors choose and put all the same teams except one and hope to get lucky on that one. If you want me to copy your teams, call me during the day at the Hornet, 278-5567.
