Halloween is just around the corner and movie ticket prices have skyrocketed to a phenomenal $7.75. So what is a student to do? Why not watch a movie for free, courtesy of the student organization UNIQUE?

As part of its popular Nooner series, UNIQUE is presenting a free showing of the hit horror film "Scream 2." The showing will be from noon until 2 p.m. today in the University Union Auditorium.

Students can drop by in between classes or to stay and watch the whole film. "It'll be easy to check out," said UNIQUE director Dean Sorensen.

This is just one of the movies UNIQUE has brought to the students at California State University, Sacramento. Last Wednesday, the organization showed a collection of Academy Award-winning student films. On the following Thursday, the group hosted a showing of "A Reason to Believe," a critically acclaimed drama about date rape.

"The turnout for 'A Reason to Believe' was better than the Academy Award showing," said Sorensen. "I was a little disappointed with that." Sorensen says the films usually have a great turnout.

Next week's Nooner is a film titled "Elvis is Alive," a self-proclaimed "mockumentary" about the legendary Elvis Presley. "I haven't seen the film myself, but it should be entertaining," said Sorensen.
