    Del Biaggio named VP

    December 18, 1998

President Donald Gerth has appointed interim vice president for administration Edward Del Biaggio as the university's chief financial officer less than 24 hours before the university closes for the six-week winter break and only two weeks after Del Biaggio said he was not interested in the job.

The eleventh-hour appointment follows a fruitless 14-month national search. The search committee originally comprised faculty, administrators, and one student representative, Sarah Dillingham. Dillingham graduated last May and had not been replaced when the committee recommended Del Biaggio for the job, "a major concern," said Gary Davis, ASI president.
