Giant Herky -- This 30-foot-tall Herky the Hornet will be inflated for all home games this season.

  • More road closures affect campus — Construction of the Power Inn Road grade separation at the Light Rail tracks south of Folsom Boulevard will cause upcoming road closures. Power Inn Road will close at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 until 5 a.m. Sept. 13. Use 65th Expressway or Florin-Perkins Road.

  • Governor approves second student trustee — Gov. Gray Davis has signed AB 213, sponsored by the California State Student Association, that provides a second student representative on the CSU Board of Trustees. The bill goes into effect on January 1, 2000.

Fear of figures? Tired of notetaking and memorization? This fall the Math department will offer CSUS students an exciting new way to learn Math 9 -- intermediate algebra -- by using a computer program.

The state Senate has sent the "fair share" bill to Governor Gray Davis, which would require certain California State University and University of California employees to pay mandatory union fees.
