CSUS Athletics welcomed back old and new football fans at last Saturday’s Causeway Classic against the UC Davis Aggies. Various groups on campus sponsored events and activities to entertain football fans.

A number of organizations gathered together at the tailgating party to rally support for the CSUS Hornet football team in the student parking lot early that afternoon. Food, games, and music were available for the tailgating party attendees.

Inside the stadium, the game sponsors set up informational booths for football fans. The Adventure Card, The World’s Gym, and The Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento were among the businesses represented.

A variety of food, drinks, and some liquor were available for purchase.

The CSUS Marching Band provided an Orbitron machine and jousting matches for football fans for a small donation to help raise money for their organization.

Some students felt like the game was more of a family reunion than a sporting event.

"I saw all of my friends up here. Even people that don’t go here. I am so happy I came. It is a much friendlier atmosphere. It’s more family oriented. I haven’t sat down yet; I am waiting to see my friends and meet new people!" said CSUS fan Andrea Martin.
