  • Buck-O-Nine will be at Big Shots in Roseville Friday. There is a $10 cover charge, but Big Shots also has several pool tables, darts, and a big screen TV.

  • Widespread Panic - The members of the band Widespread Panic, Domingo Ortiz, John Bell, John Herman, Dave Schools, Todd Nance, and Michael Houser, have been touring since 1983 but just made their first stop in San Francisco on Friday. The group from Athens, Ga. just released its sixth album, "Till the Medicine Takes," earlier this year. Even though they seem to always fill every venue, Widespread Panic exceeded 200,000 copies on only one of its previous albums. The band attributes its development over the years to constant live performances, and a new sound system from France.

  • Mock Graveyard - Today starts the Week Without Violence and continues through Sunday. A mock graveyard with headstones of victims of hate crimes was set up by the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance, Women's Studies Student Association, People Advocating Safe Surroundings and the Queer Student Alliance. Students are invited to set up headstones of their own to remember friends and family who have been victims of a hate crime. The mock graveyard can be seen and added to today and Wednesday. - Ken Sisney

  • Livingston Lecture -Distinguished lecturer and math professor Scott Farrand will highlight how professors can be involved in improving K-12 education in a talk at 3 p.m. Thursday in the University Theatre. A reception will follow in the University Union.
