  • Priority admission days will be held Nov. 2 and 4 at CSUS. During those days eligible freshmen applicants can bring their transcripts and test scores and meet with a counselor to gain immediate admission to CSUS. Appointments for on-the-spot admissions can be made by calling (916) 278-4357 from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays. The deadline is Wednesday.

  • Dan McKeon's Cockatoo Circus, will perform in the Union Auditorium on Wednesday at noon. Admission to the "zany bird show" is free.

  • People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is giving away free food to college students. PETA’s is holding the College Internet Challenge awarding winners one semester's worth of free, vegetarian food shipped to your door. To enter the contest, which runs through Nov. 30, contact PETA’s website at www.CollegeActivist.com. Winners will be notified by email Dec. 1 and the first food delivery will be the first week of Spring 2000 semester.

  • The American Brass Quintet will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday night at the CSUS Music Recital Hall located in Capistrano Hall. For more information contact CSUS Public Affairs at (916) 278-6156.

  • American composers and classical artists will perform with CSUS faculty and students November 3 - 14. The Festival of New American Music, a twelve day event, is one of America's largest and longest running events of its kind. Also slated are keynote speakers Chen Yi and Libby Larsen. The two acclaimed composers are scheduled to talk Friday at noon in the CSUS Recital Hall.
