He proposed and the board passed legislation that would require all DOC recipients (Dollars for Organizations and Clubs) to volunteer in the ASI sponsored Safe Rides program, a campus-based organization that seeks to prevent incidents of drinking and driving .
From Where I Sit: Remember the many types of heroes in your community
Last Tuesday was a special day. It was Veterans Day: a day set aside to help people remember to celebrate and honor American war veterans, what they have done and why, and the freedom, ideas, lives, and country they have protected, fought, and died for. Many veterans are still alive, too: across the nation, across your street, in you classroom, and quite possibly in your own family.

The State Hornet and CSUS were mentioned last week on Dr. Laura Schlessingers nationally syndicated radio program. A loyal listener and CSUS senior sent Schlessinger a letter of concern in regards to an article that ran in the Oct. 6 issue of the State Hornet about the illicit activities in mens rooms across campus.
One mans mission against the Rec Center
In the campaign to build a new recreation center, senior Jim Maroun is one student who is taking a strong stance against it. Recently he has been standing in the main entrance to the Library handing out "Don't be Duped!" fliers.
