It was one of those teeth-clinching, nail-biting, painful-to-watch conclusions to an impressive season. A five game, first round loss to sixth seed Cal State Northridge on Nov. 19 knocked the No. 1 seed Sac State Hornets out of the Big Sky tournament and denied them an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I tournament.

Women’s hoops downs Lamar
Four Hornets scored in double-figures led by junior Michelle St. Clair’s 14 points as the Sac State women’s basketball team defeated Lamar University, 61-54, in its season opener Friday night at Hornet Gym.
