Your guide to the perfect Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is supposed to be all candy and roses, but for many CSUS students it's more of a stressful thorn in their side. Some students don't have anyone to spend Valentine's Day with, or anybody who wants to be original and romantic. This can be quite a challenge, but some know from experience what romance is all about.

Flowers are certainly nice to receive, but they're standard. However, when given creatively, they take on a new meaning. Michelle Smith, a senior majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences, remembers when she received roses one Valentine's Day: “My boyfriend brought me eleven red roses and one white rose, and he said 'out of the whole bunch, there's only one like you.”

    Entire story ...

Roses Sex guide to the '90s
With the release of the second edition of this sex manual for the millennium, a new look and feel has been introduced to the world of sex advice -- namely recognition that everyone, no matter their gender, preferences, age or anything, has questions about sexuality.

    Full stomach ... happy heart
For anyone looking for a great place to take a special person on Valentine's Day try Paesanos Pizzeria located at 18th and Capital in downtown Sacramento. Don't be fooled by the name, it's not filled with red and white checkered table clothes, buckets of beer or softball teams. Paesanos has a wonderful atmosphere and is very hip.

Cake: A unique blend of ingredients
On February 16, Cake rolls into town bringing its own brand of modern rock to the Memorial Auditorium. Their one night stop in Sacramento continues a successful tour that has led them around the globe in support of their latest album, Prolonging The Magic, a follow up to 1996's Fashion Nugget which contained the ever so popular surprise hit, “The Distance.”

    Theater Review: 'Nunsense' is habit-forming
For anyone who has ever attended Catholic school, the idea of nuns dancing around and making jokes about religion is one that has potential to be quite entertaining. “Nunsense,” the latest production from Garbeau's Dinner Theatre, is non-stop entertainment. Moving from one song to the next with witty jokes in between, the cast of five nuns is backed up by a two-man band of drums and a keyboard.

Movie Review: 'Hilary and Jackie' is rich, fast-paced tribute
"Hilary and Jackie," the new drama from October Films, relates the true story of two sisters growing up in England, both with extraordinary musical talent.
