Sex guide to the '90sBy John MontgomeryState Hornet Published February 10, 1999
The '60s had Dr. Rubin telling us everything we wanted to know about sex. In the '70s Alex Comfort told about the joy of sex while the '80s had that German elf, Dr. Ruth, telling us to simply enjoy ourselves. And for the '90s, we have the folks at Goofyfoot Press giving us The Guide to Getting It On. With the release of the second edition of this sex manual for the millennium, a new look and feel has been introduced to the world of sex advice -- namely recognition that everyone, no matter their gender, preferences, age or anything, has questions about sexuality. No over-emphasis on spirituality or reliance of anatomical jargon in this book. The approach the folks at Goofyfoot use mixes humor with fact and breathes fresh air into a subject usually treated as either taboo or something no one should need to ask questions about. No topic is too embarrassing to be covered within the 668 pages of the large size paperback. The curious reader can find information on how to correctly use a condom or read about how to choose the best vibrator for him or her. The guide even deals with two areas of sexuality usually missing from most, if not all, the sexuality tomes geared for the mainstream audience -- homosexuality and sexuality for the disabled. All the topics are treated with a refreshing openness and sense of humor that is rarely seen in genre. Each section of the guide is peppered with comments from readers of the first edition and with illustrations that should make even the most prudish of readers laugh out loud. This is a book that may answer your questions about sex but even if it doesn't, you'll have a good time reading it. Especially if you read it with someone else.
