Committee approves funding for bicycle tunnel

Accelerated funding of $2.9 million for the CSUS access project was unanimously approved by the Sacramento Transportation Authority on Thursday.
A tunnel connecting the 65th Street Light Rail station to central campus and several new bike paths, as well as road improvements on Elvas, M Street, J Street, H Street, and 65th Street, may be built in time for the 2000 Olympic Track and Field trials.

A CSUS University Police officer said the only way to make police departments more culturally sensitive is to hire a more-diverse representation of law enforcement officers.
Recycling Center closed indefinitely
The CSUS Recycling Center isnt recycling. In fact, the center, with nearly $300,000 worth of repairs and brand new equipment, isn't expected to be recycling anything for several months. If the center does not resume operations soon, it could cost the university up to $50,000 per year for an outside agency to recycle waste on campus.
