    Editorial: Thank you, but the battle isn’t over yet

    Thanks to student voters, the State Hornet will be there, in full force, to cover CSUS. Voters approved Referendum #2 allowing the Hornet to continue to provide the news coverage the campus community has come to expect.

    We are now facing a new challenge. We have been informed President Gerth plans on thwarting the will of the students and will not forward the fee to the Chancellor unless he is given control over the Hornet’s budget. This is insidious attempt to control the newspaper and is simply unacceptable.

    From Where I Sit: It would be foolish to overreact
    As you read this, I am sure you are by now aware of the deadly shooting attacks that happened at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado last Tuesday. The people that died in this tragedy: Teacher and coach William ‘Dave’ Sanders, age 47, and students Cassie Bernall; Corey DePooter, 17; Steven Curnow; Matthew Kechter, 16; Kelly Fleming, 16; Daniel Rohrbough; Daniel Mauser, 15; Isaiah Shoels, 18; Rachel Scott, 17; John Tomlin, 16; Lauren Townsend, 18; and Kyle Velasquez.
