Campus Quotes

Published April 28, 1999

Do you think the administration should have any say in what is printed in the campus newspaper?

Chad Wehner
Undecided, Sophomore

“I think if it is something that concerns the administration then yes, because it is a school newspaper and not just a student paper. But since it is also a student newspaper the administration shouldn’t have total control over it.”

Yvonne Melenberger
Gerontology, Senior

“No, because of freedom of speech and the administration has no right to censor what the newspaper has to say. We are living in a free country.”

Charles Singer
Bio-chemistry/biology, Senior

“No, because it’s printed by students and for the students, and if the administration doesn’t agree with something then they can submit their argumentative view, just like anyone else.”

Naomi Ennis
Undecided, Sophomore

“I don’t really care that much about political issues, but I’m glad to have a student paper.”

Valerie Denero
Child Development, Senior

“No, because it’s for the students and it’s about the students’ opinions, feelings and ideas and we should have the right to voice our beliefes.”
