Well, help is on the way. Dont waste your winter break sleeping 20 hours of each day. Make the most of this long awaited time off. Dont be the one realizing what you have after its gone. Although Sacramento is not renowned for its glamorous nightlife, it does offer college students some opportunity for stress relief. Students staying in Sacramento for the holiday season need not worry. Read on for helpful tips to having somewhat of a life in Sacramento. For the dance-savvy students who like to boogie, there are a few nightclubs around town. Harlows is a bar that has live music and dancing every weekend. It also has a cigar bar. Harlows is located at 2708 J Street. For more information on Harlows and its entertainment, call 441-4693. Next we have 815 L Street. What is the name of the club, you ask? Well, this dance forum decided to make life easy on its patrons. The title is its address and its address is its title. This bar is more of the trendy dance music type of establishment. So what if you re stuck in Sacramento? Just go to 815 L Street, close your eyes, and pretend that you are on MTVs The Grind. For those under the age of 21, we have the Rage. Located at 1890 Arden Way, the Rage has it all, including cages for the braver bunch. Themes for this club vary according to which night of the week you attend. Call them at 929-0232 for the specifics. So youre not into the bar/club scene. Do not fret. Sacramento also has the IMAX Theatre. Not only do you get to watch a flick, but it can also be in 3D. Nothing better than a film that can literally make you feel like youre someplace else. Toto, I dont think we are in Kansas anymore. Dinner anyone? One great thing about our lovely hometown is its selection of dining establishments. If we lack in every other area, we definitely have a plethora of choices in restaurants. If youre not sure of what you feel like eating, just take a drive up J Street and see what piques your interest. Let your taste buds do the deciding. On one street you will find a variety of dining choices. Centro is a place to go for a bite to eat if you feel like being in a social setting. Centro serves as a hangout almost as much as it serves as a restaurant. You can find Centro at 2730 J Street or call them at 442-2552. And who says that Sacramento doesnt have real winters. Just because we dont actually see snow doesnt mean that we dont have ice. Downtown Ice Rink, located at 701 K Street, is a great place to numb your bottom. Throw on a scarf, mittens, and a few extra pairs of underwear and make your way to the ice rink. While you are in the neighborhood, visit the Downtown Plaza mall. Tons of shops equipped with the latest styles in fashion. Who needs Paris? We have Downtown Plaza. You see, Sacramento isnt so bad. If you arent one of the lucky ones traveling to Europe or going on an exotic cruise, make the best of what is available. .to you. Realize what you have before its gone. You could be stuck in Lodi.
