Letter from the Editor: A semester of outstanding work

Fatigue, risk-taking, masterplanning, growth, recruitment, retention, pressure, prioritizing, balance and excellence.

Never before have I seen a group of people experience such levels of stress in just 16 short weeks. It’s true that deadlines are a fact of life for everyone, but for the staff of the State Hornet the constant demands of dozens of tight deadlines begin to wear thin by the end of the semester.

Every week this group starts from scratch while still trying to be full-time students, children, single parents and spouses. As we strive to report on the hard work going on around campus we can easily forget to praise the efforts of our own organization. I am grateful for the tireless dedication of each member of our staff and for how much they contribute towards our goal of presenting an intelligent, objective and thought-provoking perspective on CSUS.
