Returning Resident Housing Application opens! 

Returner Priority Status Benefits:

  • Receive a $100 rent reduction off of the first fall semester installment.
  • Earlier time slot to select a room or suite space.

New changes for 2015 - 2016:

  • $250 application installment to be eligible for housing.  This payment is due by April 8, 2015 to retain priority status.

    There are 8 installments (4 each semester).

To receive Returner Priority Status, residents must:

  1. Submit online application by March 1, 2015 at 11:59 p.m.
  2. Submit $250 Application Installment payment by April 8, 2015.
  3. If under the age of 18, also print out the Housing and Dining Commons License Agreement Signature Form.  Applicant and parent or guardian must sign the form.  It can be submitted to the Housing and Residential Life Office by email, fax or mail.  Signature Form due by April 8, 2015. 

Housing Status Definitions

Pending:  Applicant has submitted an application, but still needs to submit the Application Installment and/or other documentation such as the License Agreement Signature Form for applicants under the age of 18.

Application Completed:   The Application is considered completed when the following has occurred:   Application has been submitted; the Application Installment payment has been verified; and if applicable, the License Agreement Signature form has been submitted if Applicant is under the age of 18.

Confirmation Eligible:  Application is completed.  Housing staff is assessing space availability to determine if applicant can be confirmed or will be placed on a wait list.

Confirmed:   Application is completed. Space is available and student has housing on campus.

Wait List:   Application is completed.  Space is not available at this time.  Applicant will be notified by Housing as soon as space becomes available.

How to log in to the online application portal

  • Go to  Click on the MySacState link at top of page and log in using your SacLink Username and Password.
  • Once logged in, click on the Student Services Tab.
  • Under Related Links section, click on MyHousing to go to the online Housing Application. 

Important Dates To Remember

Feb 16 - March 1
The Priority Housing Application Process for current residents who wish to remain on campus for 2015 - 2016  academic year begins February 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. 

March 1
The Priority Housing Application Period ends March 1, 2015 at 11:59 p.m.  Current residents may still apply after this date, but will not have “priority status.”  

March 5
Same Room Sign-up: Applicants with Priority Status currently living in Sierra, Sutter or the American River Courtyard may select their current room space. 

March 16 - 29
Roommate search and profile review begins for Priority Applicants.      

March 30 - April 6
Room Signup: Returning Residents with Priority Status will sign up for a room space. 

Priority Applicants will be assigned a time slot based on when their housing application is completed. Residents may access the room selection function in the online housing application according to their assigned time slot.   All room space selections must be completed by April 6, 2015.  If Priority Applicants choose not to select a room space, they will be assigned by Housing staff on April 10, 2015. 

April 8
Priority Applicants must pay $250 Application Installment by April 8, 2015.  This is the only housing installment due prior to the first day of fall semester classes! Based on space availability applicants will be eligible to be confirmed to receive housing once the application installment is paid.  

If $250 Application Installment is not paid by April 8th deadline, applicant will not receive priority status and any room space selection will be canceled.

June 26
Cancellation Deadline: Students wishing to cancel their housing application may do so for any reason by June 26, 2015. Students must submit the cancellation request through the online housing application.  A $250 cancellation fee will apply.

If requesting to cancel after the June 26th deadline, a Cancellation Request Form along with written statement and documentation detailing the reasons which fit the published cancellation criteria must be submitted to the Housing and Residential Life Office. Request is subject to approval.  If approved, a $250 cancellation fee will apply, plus applicable prorated rent for the 30 day notice period.  If not approved, the student will remain obligated to the 2015-2016 Housing and Dining Commons License Agreement.

July 6 - 17
Confirmed applicants will have the opportunity to select a room space.  Priority will be based on availability and date all requirements were met.

July 20 - 31
Housing assignments will be finalized.  Any confirmed resident without a room space assignment will be assigned by Housing staff.  Residents will receive final room assignment notification during this time.

August 3
Finalized assignment information emailed to all students

August 10
Move-In information emailed to students

August 28
Move In Day!  - Halls Open at 8 a.m. 

August 31
Fall classes begin
First Housing Installment is due.
