Accommodations

  • California State University, Sacramento has five three-story residence halls located on campus and can accommodate approximately 1,000 people.
  • Buildings are configured in traditional double and single room setups.
  • Rooms are carpeted and furnished with extra-long twin beds, desks, dressers and closets.
  • Community bathrooms are on each floor.
  • All buildings are designated "non-smoking".
  • All buildings are air conditioned for guest comfort.
  • Laundry facilities (debit card operated) are located in each building.
  • Buildings are secured 24 hours a day and the room key will allow access through outside and individual room doors.

Note: In compliance with Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, California State University, Sacramento has made crime reporting statistics available on-line at www.csus.edu/police/SRTKRPT.html. Print copies are available in the Library and by request from the Office of Public Safety and the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Disabled Room Availability

  • A limited amount of modified accommodations for person with disabilities are available on the first floor of each building. No guarantee can be made for the number of rooms available and limited availability per group assigned per hall. However, if any rooms are available they may not be within the same building to which the group is assigned. Conference Housing must be informed in writing of any need for disabled accommodations no later than thirty (30) days prior to the conference start date.

Recreational Amenities

  • The residence hall complex has several recreational facilities including a gated swimming pool/picnic area, tennis courts, basketball court and grass quad.
  • Lifeguard service is not provided. Groups must provide supervision at all times.
  • Recreation rooms in each building include televisions, pool and ping pong tables as well as snack and drink vending machines. Pool table and ping pong equipment, etc. are available to groups.
  • Additional equipment (i.e. volleyball sets) can be rented from Peak Adventures on campus. Groups may call (916) 278-6321 for more information.

Linen Service

  • Bed linens and towels are provided when requested in the contract. Linens will be stacked on end of bed prior to arrival unless other arrangements are made.
  • For guests staying longer than a week, linen exchange service can be arranged. Daily linen exchange can also be arranged for an additional fee. Please request these services prior to arrival.

Dining Service Options

  • A variety of convenient meal services can be contracted through the CSUS Foundation Dining Service including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
  • The Dining Commons provides quality food service in a clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Parking

  • All vehicles parking in the residence hall lots must have a valid parking permit.
  • PARKING PERMIT PRICES (Effective 1/29/07) - $5.00/daily permit and $9.50/ weekly permit.
  • Permits should be requested in advance.
  • Permit rates vary based on duration.
  • Any permits not issued to participants should be returned. Unused permits will not be charged to group. Portions of partially used permits cannot be refunded.
  • Individuals dropping off or picking up conference participants, but not staying during the conference, should utilize the 15-minute visitor spaces in front of Foley Hall or purchase a daily parking permit from a yellow permit machine and display it in their vehicle while parked on campus in the daily permit lots.
  • Permit machines can be found in various campus locations including the residence hall parking lot.
  • No camping or occupied motorhomes or RV's are permitted in campus parking lots.

Meeting Facilities

  • Meeting areas are limited to study and recreation areas in each building.
  • If necessary, additional chairs, tables, etc. can be requested from campus on your behalf for an additional fee.
  • Reservation of meeting facilities is subject to availability.
  • For additional meeting space on campus, groups are encouraged to contact Space Management on campus at (916) 278-6507.

Audio/Visual Equipment

  • Equipment arrangements can be made through All Things Video (916) 973-9100 .
  • Groups are responsible for picking up and returning equipment.

Keys

  • Room keys will allow guest access to their building as well as their individual room and the complex pool area.
  • Guests should carry their room key at all times.
  • Conference participants are asked to lock their doors when they are not present.
  • The replacement charge for a lost key is $20.00 per key.
  • Arrangements can be made for coordinators to utilize floor/building master keys. If lost, the charge varies depending on type of master key.

Phone Service

  • Conference groups staying in the residence halls may order short term telephone service through the Conference Housing Office.
  • Telephone set provided, Free Voice mail service and free on-campus calls.
  • Groups will need to provide their own calling cards to make any outgoing local or long distance calls.
  • Phone Activation Fee............................$85.00/per line plus phone charges
  • Ask for a Telephone Service Request Form if your group is interested in phone service.
  • There are no pay phone available within the Residence Halls, Cell phones may be used.

Personal Property

  • The University does not assume responsibility for personal property of group or individual participants.
  • Personal items left after the group’s departure will be inventoried and held at the Conference Housing Office for up to (5) days. At the end, all unclaimed items are donated to charity.

Bath Facilities

  • Typically, men and women are housed on separate floors with common bath facilities for each gender. Communal Bathrooms have separate individual showers (no tubs).

Alcohol

  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all public areas of the complex including corridors, foyers, lawns, pool, etc.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any areas occupied by minors.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited without prior written request and approval.
  • Containers allowing large quantities of alcohol to be consumed (i.e. kegs, etc.) are not permitted.

Supervision

  • Groups should provide an on-site contact person responsible for message service, emergencies, lock-outs, etc.
  • Conference groups will be responsible for the supervision of participants at all times.
  • A minimum of 1 live-in chaperone per 10 conference participants who are under the age of 18 must be provided.
  • Groups utilizing the swimming pool facilities must furnish appropriate supervision at all times.

Conduct

  • Policies regarding conduct are established with regard to state and federal laws as well as University regulations.
  • Conference housing agreements are issued based on the assumption that all program participants, regardless of age, will abide by these guidelines and are expected to display appropriate behavior at all times.
  • University reserves the right to terminate housing for participants and/or conference groups should they violate University regulations, federal, or state laws.
  • Groups are asked to respect the needs and program of the other groups residing in the complex.
  • Amplified sound systems may not be used in complex except by specific arrangements.
  • Furnishings should not be moved from their original location without permission. This includes game tables, pool tables, picnic tables, etc.
  • Window screens are not to be removed.
  • Throwing objects out of/at windows or off balconies.
  • Nothing should be fastened to interior or exterior walls without specific approval.
  • Resident hall facilities should be left in good condition. Any damages caused by a group will be billed on final invoice.
  • Excessive trash will result in additional housekeeping and/or grounds-use charges.
  • It is illegal to tamper with fire alarms/equipment, or cause damage to University property in any way.
  • Candles and other open flames are not allowed.
  • Hot plates, deep-fat fryers, open coil appliances.
  • Illegal fireworks, explosives, and all weapons are prohibited on campus.
  • Physical abuse and harassment, including verbal/written abuse, intimidation, sexual assault, or other violence against person or property will not be tolerated.
  • No animals (except guide dogs) are allowed in the residence halls.
