Residential Life


The Housing and Residential Life program is divided into the following areas:
Residential Life, Facilities Operations, Conference Services, and Administrative Operations. Dining Commons staff is employed by a campus partner, University Enterprises, Inc.

The administrative offices for Housing and Residential Life are located in Sierra Hall

The Servery at the Dining Commons staff offices are located in the Dining Commons, (916) 278-6971.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF HOUSING AND RESIDENTIAL LIFE
The Executive Director is the chief administrator responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and leadership of on-campus housing programs.

DIRECTOR OF HOUSING OPERATIONS AND CONFERENCE SERVICES
The Director oversees the day-to-day operation of Housing, Conferences, Marketing, and Technology. 

SENIOR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
The Senior Associate Director of Residential Life is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the residence halls including the selection, supervision and development of all Residence Life Staff including (Senior Area Coordinators, Residence Life Coordinators, Graduate Student Assistants, Resident Advisors, Program Coordinators, Desk Attendants and Recreational Attendants).

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING, TRAINING & ACADEMIC SUCCESS

The Assistant Director of Programming, Training & Academic Success responsibilities include oversight of programming in the halls, theme floors, advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA), Community Engagement Organizers and student staff training.

COORDINATOR FOR RESIDENCE HALL CONDUCT

The Coordinator for Residence Hall Conduct oversees the student conduct process including policy development, appeals and educational sanctions for the residence hall community.

Senior Area Coordinator- Programming and Staff Selection

Senior Area Coordinator for Programming and Staff Sections provide lead direction for the following halls: American River Courtyard, Sierra and Sutter. As well as oversight of programming in the halls, theme floors, advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA), and staff selection.

Senior Area Coordinator- Residence Hall Conduct and Student Staff Training

Senior Area Coordinator for Programming and Staff Sections provide lead direction for the following halls: Desmond, Draper, Jenkins and Riverview. As well as oversight of the student conduct process including policy development, appeals, educational sanctions for the residence hall community and plans student staff training.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

The Assistant Director of Facilities is the chief administrator responsible for the overall physical condition of the residence hall complex and grounds. The Assistant Director coordinates the preventative maintenance program, construction projects, work orders, and renovations. The Assistant Director also directs the day-to-day operations of the maintenance, custodial and grounds personnel.

CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR

The Custodial Supervisor oversees the custodians and is responsible for cleanliness of residence halls. The Custodial Supervisor coordinates the Housing pest control and waste management services.

RESIDENCE LIFE COORDINATOR

Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) are full-time, post masters or post bachelor’s degree live-in professional staff members who supervise the operation of their residence hall.

GRADUATE STUDENT ASSISTANT - PROGRAMMING

The Graduate Student Assistant assists the Senior Area Coordinator of Programming and Staff Selection with recruitment, selection of staff, programming, theme floor programming and advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA).

GRADUATE STUDENT ASSISTANTS-AMERICAN RIVER COURTYARD & RIVERVIEW

The Graduate Student Assistants assists the American River Courtyard and Riverview Residence Life Coordinators with the overall management of AMC and RVH.  

RESIDENT ADVISOR

Resident Advisors (RAs) are peer student staff members who live on and are assigned to particular floors of the residence halls. There are generally six to thirteen RAs per building. RAs are the primary resource for residents and work in conjunction with Residence Life Coordinators to create a community environment.
