Annual Filing and Training
Newly Appointed: CSU employees in designated positions are notified of their requirement to file and take training by the university's Conflict of Interest Officer. Employees must file a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700 or Form 700U) within 30 days of being appointed to a designated position.
Annual Filing: California State University, Sacramento employees in designated positions are required to file a Form 700 or Form 700U each April 1. The university’s Conflict of Interest Officer is responsible for notifying all employees who must file.
Leaving Office: When an employee in a designated position leaves that designated position, he/she must file a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) for “Leaving Office.” This form must be completed and filed with the Conflict of Interest Officer within 30 days of leaving office.
Employees in a designated Conflict of Interest position must complete ethics training within 6 months of assuming the designated position. Training also is required every two years thereafter. This is web based training and may be taken from any computer with Internet access. The Conflict of Interest Officer is responsible for notifying employees of this training requirement. This training course is specifically designed for CSU employees and is required by state law.
How to Take the Online Training
Employees must be registered for this online training. The Conflict of Interest Officer submits designated employee names and e-mail addresses to the Chancellor's Office to complete this registration. The employee's name and e-mail address must be recognized in order to commence the ethics training. Employees may take the training at any time as long as it is completed by the prescribed date.
