Leadership

The Institute has contributed to several efforts to ensure there will be effective educational leaders in California higher education. Those efforts have included:

  • Developing a community college leadership certificate program through CSU Sacramento's College of Continuing Education;

  • Serving as the 2002-03 northern regional host for participants in the Leadership Fellows program sponsored by the Community College Leadership Development Initiatives (CCLDI) at the Claremont Graduate University by offering a series of policy workshops covering topics such as teaching and learning in the community colleges, assessment and accountability, finance, human relations, external and internal community building, and diversity;

  • Developing new graduate coursework in higher education policy within the Masters program of the Department of Public Policy and Administration at California State University, Sacramento;

  • Participating in the planning for a joint Ed.D. in educational leadership at CSU Sacramento in cooperation with the University of California, Davis and Sonoma State University.
