Running Info

I started "running" in October 2008 as a way to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, they are the beneficiary of the Urban Cow Half Marathon/5K (formerly the Cowtown). I ran the 5k and plodded in at 36 minutes and 40 seconds. Over the next year, I ran a bunch of 5k events and gradually reduced my time to 28:02 (2009 Long Beach Turkey Trot). With much prompting from my wife, I decided to try a half marathon. In March 2010, I ran the Shamrockin' Half Marathon in West Sacramento and finished in 1:58:08. I'm now a regular runner and most weeks I log 15-20 miles. I've also started participating in Sprint Distance Triathlons.

I often run at home, along the banks of the American River, but sometimes I'll head out for a lunchtime run from campus. I've mapped out several routes that originate at the base of the Guy West Bridge, between Sequoia and Riverside Halls.
