The Census of Names contains the list of individuals living in residences when the decennial censuses were taken every 10 years. There is a 70 year privacy restriction on the release of this census so that the latest edition is always behind by that much time. This library purchases microfilm rolls for selective Northern California cities and counties.  The table below lists the county or city and the microfilm we have purchased.

The California Room at the California State Library has microfilm for all California cities and counties from 1850.

The National Archives and Records Administration in San Bruno, California (near SF International Airport) has a complete collection.

The Mormon Temple Library has selective holdings.

The microfilm is located in the Gov Docs Microfiche cabinets under the call number C 3.23:

One can search EUREKA under the title Census of Population to view holdings for each census of names.
