Fall 2009 Seminar Syllabus (PDF file) COURSE CANCELLED (See letter to students below)
Dear Students,
It is with great regret that we must announce that yesterday morning (8-18-09) it was determined that we will be unable to offer the Ed.S. seminar (EDS 239) this year. Further, as a result, we will be unable to award any Ed.S. degrees this year. This is a direct result of the unprecedented, severe, and dramatic budget reductions our department (and the entire CSU system) has experienced this year.
As you can imagine, this was very a difficult decision and has had a devastating impact on faculty morale (it took almost a decade to get this degree approved). We quite simply, however, do not have the funds to offer this degree option this year. Our expectation is that once the budget crisis is resolved, we will again offer the Ed.S. Seminar, the opportunity to do a thesis or project, and to earn the Ed.S degree.
At the present time we do not have any information about the refund process (for those of you who were only enrolled in the Ed.S. seminar). As soon as we get that information it will be forwarded to you.
Again, we are very disappointed that we have had to resort to this extreme measure. Your understanding and support will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Guy Deaner, Ph.D.
