Course Syllabus

Description

This course is designed to:

  • provides an overview of both qualitative & quantitative research design & methods

  • presents the basic framework of educational research & its relationship to the development of educational policy & practice

  • provides students with the skills & knowledge required for the development of the master's thesis or project

  • equips students with skills & understanding to analyze & critique published research & apply findings to professional decision making

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will demonstrate the ability to:

  • identify various methodologies used in educational research

  • analyze & critique research reports

  • design & carry out research, analyze the data & interpret the findings

  • apply research findings to educational policy & practice

  • write concise reviews of relevant research literature
