*      Information about the diagnostic test and the proficiency quiz

*      Labs and lecture begin Monday, August 31st .  Attendance is mandatory.
All students are required to take and pass a standardized diagnostic placement test in order to be eligible to enter chem. 1A. The exam will be administered  during the first week of classes in the labs only.

*      You will need your text , clicker and OWL login by the beginning of the semester. Do not put this off.
Information on the text is below.  Please see the HW page for more information on OWL and the Clicker page for more information on the clickers.

*      Adding Chem 1A:

*      To add chem. 1A you need to choose from the lab sections that fit your schedule.

*      On the first lab meeting you must show up and sign the add list.

*      All students that enroll or wish to add must take the chem. 1A diagnostic test. Click here for more information.

*      Generally, we can find room for al students that score above the minimum requirement on the placement exam.

*      Please be aware that the sections immediately before and after the lecture ar the most popular so the chance of adding is low. There will often be room  available in the night sections if you really wish to add.

*      The wait lists on MySacState do not establish priority for adding chem. 1A. The wait lists are used only to back fill the rosters during enrollment. They will be emptied on the Friday before classes start.

*      Please do not sign up for the OWL homework or the clickers until you are sure you are in a section.

*      Those wishing to switch sections must first drop from the section in which you are enrolled before adding to another section. You must sign the add-list and we cannot guarantee enrollment in the desired section.

*      Repeating Chem 1A:

*      If you are repeating chem. 1A you must repeat the lab if you earned less than 90% of the points on your 1st try.

*      You must pass the diagnostic placement test regardless of your previous score.

*      You will be given lowest priority when adding.
