This funny story about three crazy kids and a four-foot tall talking cat named Beauregard, and hidden math problems.  Each chapter tells part of the story and covers a different area in math. Throughout each chapter are quizzes so that you can put what the students just learned to use.  There is a section at the end of the book that has the answers, explanations, and math terms that students might want to review. (fractions pages 25-54 and decimals page 55-76).

It was written especially for children who have been convinced by the attitudes of adults that mathematics is impossible, only for bright kids, and no fun at all.  This book says that math is nothing more that a way of looking at the world and that it can be relevant to everyday life and fun. Hundreds of mathematical events, jokes, riddles, puzzles, investigations, and experiences prove it.
