Course Requirements/Student Activities:

1. two examinations on course content
   
2. creating a group mural with your elementary students
   
3. one cloze or maze passage
   
4. linking literacy lessons with technology
   
5. linking literacy lessons with the visual and performing arts
   
6. small and large group discussions
   

7. small group teaching using strategies and approaches, such as language experience approach, DRTA/DLTA, word identification techniques, and story character analysis.
   

8. dialogue journaling with the instructor and with your students
   
9. completing two literacy teaching cases (not behavior cases)
   
10. one creative, hands-on interest inventory
    
11. creative bookmaking with elementary students
    
12. drama enactment with elementary students
