• Final  research papers are due before 5 pm on WED, 12/12 in Brighton Hall 232 (my office). If I am not in my office, slide your paper under my door.

• Please see the WRITING CHECKLIST and CHAPTER 16 of your text as you complete your final papers.

• On 12/3 we will meet in our research groups to work on poster presentations scheduled for 12/5 (last day of class).

• Final  research papers are due before 5 pm on WED, 12/12 in Brighton Hall 232 (my office). If I am not in my office, slide your paper under my door.

• Homework #5 (Problem set 2) and Homework #6 (one per groups) are now both due by Friday 11/16.  Please slip it under my office door (BRH232) if I am not in my office.

• Homework #7 (Writing Exercises Part 2) is due Monday 11/19.

• There is no class on Wednesday 11/21. Please use this time to work on your research papers and study for the exam!

• I will accept early drafts of your Research Paper for feedback on or before Monday, November 26th.

• I have posted the exam study guide for the third exam.

• Don't forget to to cast your vote on election day -  Tuesday, November 6th!

• For Wednesday (11/7) class, be sure to print out the problem set, the T-test handout  and Chi-square handout  for class. Bring also: your group research data for analysis in order to complete Worksheet III.

• No class on Monday 11/12 (Veterans Day Holiday)

• Summary/Critique #1 rewrites (optional) are due Monday, October 29th. Please attach your first paper to your re-write.

• The second Summary/Critique paper is now due on Monday, 11/5.

• Data collection for research projects is scheduled for the week of October 29 during class time . Here is the schedule by section

• In preparation for the exam, here is the problem set answer key.

• Summary/Critique #1 rewrites (optional) are due Monday, October 29th and the second Summary/Critique is now due on Monday, 11/5.

• The first summary/critique paper is due Monday, October 1st. Check out the writing checklist for some important dos and don'ts as you are writing your paper.

• Note that we will be meeting in ARC 1016 on Wed, October 3rd to begin our research projects. Please check out tentative research groups to see that I have honored all of your group requests. Let me know if I missed something.

Welcome back! A few reminders/announcements as we begin the course:

• Take a little time to peruse this course web page. On it you will find lecture outlines and assignment handouts, all linked to the syllabus or course outline. Check out the resources page for links to helpful I will be posting lecture outlines and some assignments as I go, so if there is no link for some assignments, it is likely that they have simply not been posted yet.

• Be sure to check the course schedule and this announcements page periodically (at least once a week); both are updated frequently. It is your responsibility to keep up with reading assignments and assignment due dates listed on the course schedule.

• Besides your textbooks, there are five required supplementary readings noted on the course schedule. You can click on the links for pdf files of these readings. These readings are password protected so please see the instructor for the password.

• We will be forming research project groups early in the semester. Please let me know by September 5th if you have any requests for being placed in a group with another student in the class.
