In a 3-4 page (formal) essay, address the following topic. Your paper should be written in APA style (e.g., double-spaced, 12-point Roman font, 1-inch margins with page numbers on upper right). You should cite your readings to support your ideas (using APA style).

 Discuss the elements of an effective essay. What techniques can you employ to write an effective essay? What role does critical reading and thinking play in effective scholarly writing?
