Thanksgiving break


Upon completion of this unit students should be able to:

  • Discuss different wave types that are produced by an earthquake, and summarize how they travel through the Earth

  • Describe the instruments that are used to measure the size of an earthquake

  • Describe different methods of reporting the size of an earthquake

  • Understand how triangulation is used to pinpoint the location of an earthquake

  • Identify areas of California that have a high probability of a major earthquake
