Objectives

Upon completion of this unit students should be able to: Discuss the reasons that Sacramento has a high risk of flooding Give examples of areas in Sacramento that lie within the 100 year floodplain Summarize what would happen with a levee failure in the Pocket area. Discuss where groundwater occurs in the subsurface. Use and define terms common groundwater terms:  vadose, phreatic, groundwater table, saturated, unsaturated
