Upon completion of this unit students should be able to:
Describe the slope and composition of the continental shelf, continental slope, continental rise and ocean trench.
Describe how new crust is formed at the mid-oceanic ridge.
Describe how the magnetic patterns of ocean crust can be used to date the crust.
Summarize age patterns in ocean crust.
Describe how guyotes, seamounts, barrier reefs and atolls form.
