Employment
After four years of job decline, through 2003, and the 5.35% growth in jobs in 2004, employment growth has grown more slowly. The 0.8% growth in 2007 added 65 new jobs and brought the annual average number of jobs in Glenn County to 7,955. The forecast for 2008, based on actual data through December, shows a slower 0.4% increase.

Unemployment
The annual average Unemployment Rate in Glenn County in 2007 was 9.0%, up from 2006's 8.0%. The forecast for 2008, based on actual data through December, is for an unchanged 9.0%.

Taxable Sales
Taxable Sales for 2006 from all Outlets in Glenn County continued the rebound that started in 2003 with a 6.5% ($20.3 mil.) increase. The forecast for 2007, based on actual data through the 4th quarter of 2006, is a slower 2.6% ($9.9 mil.) increase followed by a similar 2.8% increase in 2008.
