Employment
   The number of jobs, on average for the year, in Amador County in 2007 increased 1.75%. That was slightly better than the 1.24% increase in 2006. The forecast for 2008, based on actual data through December, is for a slower 1.38% increase.

Unemployment
  The annual average Unemployment Rate for Amador County in 2007 was 6.0%, up from the 2006 rate of 5.3%. The forecast for 2008, based on actual data through December, is a slight increase to 6.1%.

Taxable Sales
  Taxable sales, for all outlets, increased by 9.18% in 2006, better than the 4.6% in 2005. The forecast, based on actual results through the 4th quarter of 2006, for 2007 is for a very small 1.0% ($4.6 million) increase, followed by an even smaller $3.3 million increase in 2008.
